December 2002We have come to the end of another year, burnt but not scarred!
The new dye/bleach facility was inaugurated on 12 December when we had our customary end-of-year lunch. This is the time that the office staff go all out to prepare a feast for our workers. The store was decorated with indigenous Christmas decorations made by Erena, our Receptionist and Renita, our packaging specialist cum Quality Controller. Food was prepared by Anne-Marie, our supplier coordinator and Annemie who handles local sales and labour matters and the rest pitched in to assist with serving the three course meal, consisting of a fish starter, followed by BBQ and desert. The men, Robert, Willie, Richard, Coenie and Maans BBQd many meters of sausage and over 160 T-bone steaks.
We were entertained by the toddlers of the crèche who put on a disco-dance and fashion parade, to loud applause and cheering. This was followed by the Botrivier community choir, whose fame has already spread so far that they have been invited to sing at parliament and for our President Mbeki. The true African rhythm and harmony had us entranched. Our founder, Walter, now almost 93 years old drove from Cape Town for the event.
After a long and busy year, our workers are now on a well-earned holiday. Especially our Xhosa workers are taking the opportunity to visit their families in the Eastern Cape, 1500km north-east of here. They are due back at work midway through January.

We thank our business associates for their patronage during 2002. We look forward to being of service to you again in 2003.
May the Festive Season be a time of joy and peace for you and your families. We wish you a Successful, Happy and Healthy 2003.
